Astrophysics

Welcome to the flip side of particle physics. Astrophysics is the study of the very large. It looks at interactions between gravitationaly bound objects that are of immense size and at immense distances from each other, and seeks to do no less than explain the origins and functional details of the entire observable universe. As with Particle Physics, it too holds mysteries and observations that can't help but expand the mind of anyone who wanders within it's reach. Everyone is aware of just how small the earth is compared to our Sun, but our sun itself, although quite average in size, is but a speck compared to the largest of stars. See the video on this page.
